NEWS: Kingdom Hearts 3D 20th July

So the new Kingdom Hearts finally surfaces on the 3DS on the 20th July here in the UK and heres hoping it’s going to be the sequel we’ve all been hoping for.

Fans of the franchise have been screaming for a direct sequel featuring the original cast to appear on the playstation 3 since it launched some five years ago.  So for it to take this long to get something new, on a portable handheld, also in 3D almost seems a bit gimmicky to me.  Nintendo’s handheld has seen better days, for me at least.  Having turned on my 3DS today for the first time since February I’d noticed that I really hadn’t missed anything – except two mails from @RSG_Angel.

I’ve failed to be impressed by Kingdom Hearts on the portables so far.  The last one I played being 358/2 Days on the DS.  I didn’t finish it.  I guess the comparison would be the same for God of War.  The games are good by portable standards, but whenever I play a portable version of a game, all I want to do is play it on a big screen.

Tell me that a big screen version of Crisis Core would be a bad thing?  The fact that Chains of Olympus and Ghosts of Sparta are now on the PS3 just screams to me that Sony made a mistake.

Before Kingdom Hearts 3D is released I’ll attempt to finish the handheld ones to give me a bit more depth to the story however I highly doubt they will compare to Kingdom Hearts 1 or 2.  I’ll reserve judgement on KH3D until I’ve played it but quite frankly a franchise as beautiful as Kingdom Hearts need some big screen attention, not bus time fun.
