Fresh off the back of the Nintendo conference this week, I, like many I’m assuming, have finally picked up a Wii U.  I’ve had it for a day and I am FAR from impressed.

REVIEW: Assassins Creed III

Assassins Creed III marks the closure of the originally announced and then extended to five main game trilogy and a further three handheld spin-offs by taking players between the American Civil War and Present day in an effort to stop the sun melting the planet on the 21st December.

A few of you may remember my scathing review of Assassin’s Creed Revelations from last year so to be fair, AC3, had an absolute mountain to climb to get me back on board with this franchise but quite frankly I feel this entry never really left base camp.

REVIEW: Call of Duty: Black Ops II

The yearly addition to the Call of Duty franchise is always a landmark in the gaming calendar as retailers up and down the country throw open their doors at midnight and play host to the swarms of people looking to get their hands on a copy as soon as the clock strikes twelve.

The only time you could catch me at a midnight launch would have been when I worked for GAME/Gamestation as I would have been one of the people forgoing sleep to sell you a copy, you die hard fans you.

My history with Call of Duty has been limited to everything after Modern Warfare but not including World at War, pretty much when the series took a jump in popularity really.  The only time I’ve felt compelled to actually spend money on the title was for the launch of Modern Warfare 2 but swiftly traded it all back in to recoup my money, opting to play future titles in marathon sessions of six hours on a Sunday in the stock room on an old dusty 15″ CRT.

Times have changed now though.  Borrowing a copy, pumping it through the DPX21 and sitting as close as possible to my 32″ Samsung without burning a hole in my retina, I marathon-ed Black Ops II last night to bring you this review today.

REVIEW: Post Eurogamer Thoughts

Seeing some of the enormous queues made me wonder whether or not getting to front of them would be classed as time well spent or not.  Never the less I had a go at a few titles, some unexpected highlights and some confirming what I’d already thought.

PREVIEW: Eurogamer Expo

Eurogamer kicks off today marking its fifth year running and third at Earls Court.  The expo offers members of the public and game industry regulars a chance to meet up, be social and play many of the new releases that are still a long way from being released.  Although for me personally this years expo hasn’t got a lot to offer, there is most definitely something for everyone and if you’re over the age of eighteen then even more as well.

Below is a list of where you are likely to find me throughout the course of the day.

Zavvi Mega Monday Round-Up (23/04/12)

Zavvi’s Mega Monday deals not only give me a reason to look forward to Mondays, but also give me a point of orientation for working out all the other days of the week when I’m not so sure.  So below are this weeks Mega Monday deals what have caught my eye and if money was no object, I would happily buy.

Pandora’s Tower (First Impressions)

Pandora’s Tower is finally out across PAL territories and has found it’s way into my Wii.  I’ve played it for roughly two hours and conquered the first boss so this is almost like an initial reaction review so feel free to take it with a pinch of salt.  However in this two hours, Pandora’s Tower has failed to give me a reason to carry on playing so this might be the last time you hear of it on here.
